America’s central bank leaves key interest rate unchanged, as expected – FAZ – Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung

Janet Yellen leads the most powerful central bank in the world for nearly two and a half years.

The US Federal Reserve has not changed its key interest rate as expected. The key interest lies more in a range from 0.25 to 0.50 percent, the monetary authorities informed in Washington on Wednesday. Economists and financial markets had expected this decision. Thus, the monetary authorities have allowed in the United States for the fifth consecutive time the interest rate unchanged.
