Canadian Government: Ceta will not violate European standards – FinanzNachrichten.de

Canada’s government promises that the European-Canadian FTA Ceta will not violate the European consumer and health protection standards. “We comply with the European rules, as regards hormones or the use of genetic engineering in food”, the Canadian Trade Minister Chrystia Freeland told the “Tagesspiegel” (Monday edition).

“Canadian producers who want to export to Europe must comply with the European standards.” Freeland expects Ceta is yet signed this year and come into force early next year.
