After the bankruptcy petition of the fashion group Steilmann the business of the clothing company run time being. The domiciled primarily in West Germany twelve Boecker fashion stores remained open, said the preliminary insolvency administrator Frank Kebekus. “The top priority is currently to stabilize the operating businesses of the Group companies.”

440 employees affected

Steilmann had filed for bankruptcy due to insolvency on Thursday. The reason for the plight of the company called persistently weak transactions. “The banks were no longer willing to finance,” it said. Discussions with potential donors were unsuccessful.

Affected by the bankruptcy are solely those of the parent company Steilmann and the twelve Boecker fashion houses with a total of nearly 440 employees. You will receive according to the company by the Federal Employment Agency through May insolvency allowance.

Not affected by the bankruptcy, the Germany-wide 170 Adler fashion markets where Steilmann is involved. Working there most of the 8300 employees of the company. 2014 Steilmann SE had implemented EUR 900 million, the majority was spent on eagles.
