 In the US, the analysts rub your eyes. Although they had predicted a GDP growth of 4.3 percent for the third quarter, they still are well below the reality. The US economy is growing even stronger.

 


 

The US economy is so strong in the third quarter no longer grown as more than ten years. As the US Commerce Department also announced that consumer spending rose in the third quarter seasonally adjusted annualized rate of 3.2 percent after the second publication 2.2 percent had been specified.

The deflator used as an alternative measure of inflation for the personal consumption expenditures (PCE) increased an annualized rate of 1.2 percent over the previous quarter. The second publication, an increase of 1.3 percent was reported. In the second quarter, the PCE deflator was up 2.3 percent. In particular, the US central bank favors the PCE deflator in its monetary policy analysis.

The GDP deflator, another measure of inflation, rose in the third quarter as expected by 1.4 percent after an increase of 2.1 per cent was recorded in the second quarter. The GDP deflator measures the price development on the basis of all goods and services produced. Consumer prices are levied against it by means of a representative basket.

The strong growth is likely to convince the US Federal Reserve, which adjusts its monetary policy on economic data, the strength of the US economy. It is expected that the Federal Reserve will raise interest rates again next year.
